Beachfront Textures

Beach Front Textures:  I just took a collage workshop with the magnificent and wildly imaginative Carrie Burns Brown.   We made mostly non-objective collages from papers we painted and stained ourselves.  The wonderful exercise in non-objective pieces is that you have to make them work purely based on good shapes and  interesting value pattern, followed by intriguing texture and color.  You can't rely on someone liking the subject matter.  I have begun to incorporate some of the papers I made into this beach composition.  Very different from my usual process and very interesting.
Beach Front Textures is 8x8" acrylic media and collage on panel.
